Anti-wrinkle injections usually involve injecting a naturally occurring protein into the affected areas. This causes the muscles of the face to relax and consequently smoothing out wrinkles. Furthermore, it is the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal of wrinkles.
Anti-wrinkle injections are for you if you’re aged between 18-65. Either male or female and have facial lines affecting your frown area, forehead or the side of your eyes (crows feet). However anti-wrinkle injections can not be used if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Your appointment will take approximately half an hour. You will meet with your practitioner and take time to discuss what your trouble areas are and what can be done to achieve the desired effect.
Once you are both happy about what to expect you will fill in your personal and medical details and then sign the consent to treatment form. Your practitioner will cleanse the area and then carry out the procedure.
When can I expect to see results?
Anti-wrinkle injections take between 2 days and 2 weeks to take full effect.
Do you do "top-ups"?
The maximum effect of the anti-wrinkle injections should be seen after two weeks. If after this time, you are not satisfied with the results, a follow up appointment can be made with your practitioner and if needed, a free “top-up” injection(s) can be given.
How long does the treatment last?
The effects of the anti-wrinkle injections can normally be seen for 3-6 months.
How many Botox injections will I need?
The amount of injections required various from client to client. On average 5 injections are given to the frown area, 6 injections given to the forehead area and 6 injections given to the crows feet area (3 injections to the side of each eye).
Will the treatments hurt?
The anti-wrinkle injections are administered using a small, thin needle. To further minimise the discomfort felt, your practitioner will change the needle between each area. Although the treatment is therefore not pain free, it is usually very well tolerated by all clients and most refer to it as being less painful that having their eyebrows waxed for instance.
Do I need to do anything specific before or after the treatment?
There is nothing that you need to do prior to the treatment. After the treatment there are a few “do’s and don’ts” – this will be fully explained to you by your practitioner and a written copy of our aftercare advice will be given to you at your appointment.
Are there any side effects?
As the treatment involves injections, there can be some mild bleeding which typically stops within seconds. There may be some redness to the area initially but this tends to settle after approximately half an hour. When injecting the forehead area, there is a risk of eyebrow drooping – however by using a practitioner that you can trust to inject the area in the correct way and by following the aftercare advice given, this risk is minimal.
