Considering “Botox” but wondering what it will cost you? Let us help explain!

Now more than ever, people are turning to non-surgical aesthetic procedures such as Botox and Dermal Filler to help give them a more youthful appearance. Botox is becoming more and more popular; I mean, who hasn’t heard of it? Exactly! However, you may be asking yourself some questions such as “how much does Botox cost?” or “how does Botox pricing work?” Well, we’re here to help guide you on this Botox journey, and by the end, we hope you’ll have a better understanding about what you may expect to pay!

There are 5 main things that affect Botox pricing, so let’s get into it! Botox can be used for various places on the face, and places such as the underarms, but for the purposes of this blog we are going to be talking about its pricing in terms of the three most commonly used areas on the face:

  • Glabellar (frown lines or “11’s” as it is sometimes known as)
  • Forehead
  • Crows Feet.

1. The botox injector

Who is injecting me? The level of qualification and experience of the injector is a key factor which influences price. Are they, for example, a doctor, a dentist, a nurse or even in some cases a non-medical practitioner? How long have they been in their primary role as a doctor, for instance, and how long have they been practicing aesthetics? The more experienced injectors may be more sought after and therefore may attach a higher price tag to their procedures.

2. Location

The location and area you are receiving the procedure might also affect the price tag. For example somebody working from a fancy clinic in London may charge significantly more than somebody working from a small salon room, in a small town. This could be to reflect overheads, but to also be in line with the practitioners working locally to them. This leads me on to another important factor; competitors. As Botox is becoming more and more popular, it is now common for there to be aesthetics offered in multiple clinic locations, in most towns and cities across the UK. Many practitioners will look to see what their local competitors are charging, and align their prices to something similar so they’re not pricing themselves out of the market. 3. Brand

Which brand will my practitioner use? Did you know that there are various brands of Botox? All are similar in price but do vary slightly. It may be that some clinics choose to use a cheaper brand and their prices reflect that, or vice versa and a more expensive brand is used and this increase in cost is covered by the customer pricing, to ensure they still achieve a good profit margin.

It’s also important to be weary of pricing that appears to be too cheap. This may indicate that the brand being used has been imported and is unapproved for use in the UK or that it has not been supplied by a reputable pharmacy. Underlining Beauty will only ever use brands that are approved for use in the UK, and have been supplied by a reputable pharmacy, and stored in the correct conditions, for example stored at the correct temperature.

4. Aftercare

Most aesthetic practitioners will offer you a “top up” procedure free of charge after two weeks if the desired effect of the treatment has not been achieved. Some clinics may consider factoring in this extra potential cost into their initial pricing structure, and some may not.

5. Consumable Costs

As well as the cost of the Botox product itself, the cost of consumables also needs taking into consideration. Each practitioner requires needles, gloves, cleansing products, bacteriostatic saline, to name a few. The cost of these will increase in line with inflation, which is currently at the highest it’s been since 1982. Therefore treatment prices need to reflect this.

How did we decide on these prices you might ask next?

And the answer to that would be; we decided on what we felt was a fair price. Did we look at the prices of local competitors? Yes. Did we consider how much our product and consumables cost us? Yes. Did we consider the job role and the expertise of our practitioners? Again, yes, but was this all we used to make our decision on prices? No.

Overall we came to our decision based on what we felt was a fair price to our customers.  After building up over ten years of experience, Underlining Beauty has a loyal customer base that come back to us time after time, hopefully because they feel confident in us as their practitioners, and the results we achieve for them, but also because they know that we are trustworthy and will never over sell something we don’t believe in, or rip them off by charging much more than we need to. We are committed to keeping our prices fair to our customers, always.
