Full Face Rejuvenation

When there is a new word around aesthetics town, I like to have my say on it! For those of you reading this that know me well, you won’t be shocked that I have an opinion! Haha.

So, Full Face Rejuvenation or FFR – what is it and why are we hearing it so often?

A FFR is about looking at the client as a whole. Instead of a client booking in to have a consultation about having cheek filler for instance, they book in to have a whole face consultation. This means that the aesthetic practitioner looks at the patient as a whole, and weighs up what aesthetic treatment may be beneficial to that particular client in order to “rejuvenate” their look.

In aesthetics there are many “rules” or “aesthetics preference” that we work with. A FFR would involve looking at the patient in terms of these rules and suggesting aesthetic procedures that would make their appearance more “aesthetically pleasing”.

A FFR usually involves placing 6ml or more of filler in the face in one sitting.

What are the pros and cons I hear you cry?!

Pros

Now don’t get me wrong, as an aesthetic practitioner, having the ability to assess someone fuller and do whatever you think “need” doing can feel great! So often we are left wishing we had just that bit more filler to finish the job properly. Doing a FFR means that we cannot just do the “tear trough” but can also do the cheeks to support the tear trough and lift the jowls, the temples to help lift the cheeks and bring out the hollows and pop a bit more filler in to the chin and jawline to give a smoother contour and inverted triangle appearance to the lower face.

Cons

But, that does come at a price…literally!

Placing 6ml of filler will come in at upwards of £1250 plus. This is a lot of money in anyone’s books!

But for me, it’s not just the price. So often my clients are worried that filler will make them look too noticeably different. Doing an FFR may be great for a before and after on Instagram, but you are less likely to get away with telling friends and family you have just had a good facial!

Every client is different; the choice is yours!

Some people want that impact and they haven’t got the time to come back for “bit after bit” so they want it all doing in the same sitting. That doesn’t mean doing it this way is wrong. The point of me writing this blog isn’t to bad mouth FFRs, as often they look amazing and can be satisfying for both the practitioner and client. The point of me writing this blog is so that you don’t think this is what you have to do in order to achieve results.

Before and after cheek augmentation at UB:

“Tweakments”

One of my favourite words is “tweakments.” Yes, ultimately you may end up having the 6ml of filler placed and spending more than £1250, but by doing this over time you can bet your bottom dollar not as many people notice why you are starting to look that bit fresher and you don’t have to get your credit card out to do it.
