Do you lift bro?!
By Dr Rachael Syvret
We are all fighting the downward pull of the ageing process. That sinking feeling is not only in our skin but also in our gut as we look in the mirror and feel like we just don’t look like “us” anymore.
So, what can we do to prevent this and “turn back the clock?”
Unfortunately the gold standard still is and always will be surgery. Surgery is the only true option that will physically lift and tighten the skin. But surgery is not an option for many of us. The reasons why may be financial, feeling nervous about the outcome or feeling that it is just “too much.”
This leaves us pondering what our options are that may help without us having to go under the knife. This is where non-surgical aesthetic procedures come in.
- We can place dermal filler high into the temples and lateral cheek bones to help pull the skin upwards.
- We can replace lost fullness to the apples of the cheeks, which helps to support the skin of the mid and lower thirds of the face.
- We can place filler into the jawline, both at the angle of the jaw to help pull the skin upwards and also at the lower part of the jaw to try and mask the pre jowl sulcus and formation of jowls.
- In addition to the use of dermal fillers, there is also the option for products such as Profhilo and polynucleotides. These are cell rejuvenating injectables and help to increase our collagen and elastin production and as a result help to tighten and firm the skin.
